Victoria Police Fitness Test Group Training Session 24 January 2016
For something a little different this week we set up a full court obstacle challenge for the team. The course incorporated elements of the Illinois Agility Test as well as the obstacle climb from the the Victoria Police Fitness Test.
Here are some of the highlights from the session.
00:01 – The Calm Before The Storm
Members catching up on all the goss’ from the week before the session gets underway.
00:05 – Warm Up
TIme to fire up the engines people!
00:33 – Obstacle Course Demonstration
A quick demonstration to familiarise ourselves with the obstacle course layout.
00:57 – Obstacle Course Practice Runs
It’s one thing to watch a demonstration, but, you really don’t learn anything until you physically do it yourself, so, we cut a few laps to get the pattern down pat.
01:15 – It’s Time to Time!
Each member had the opportunity to complete the obstacle course as fast as they could. The average times were just under 2 minutes. To say it was exhausting would be a fair comment. Two minutes of agility based, high intensity activity certainly took its toll.
02:51 – Illinois Agility Test
After the fun and games of the obstacle course it was time to focus on the Illinois Agility Test. A few practice runs before each member was timed individually.
03:15 – Beep Test Relay Drill
To finish off a pretty relentless session it was time for one of our favourite high intensity interval training drills, the Beep Test Relay.
Yet another great effort from the group at this week’s session. Well done team, have a great week, see you at the next session!
